The students were so curious about the frogs in the drains outside, and with so many questions about them, we learned more about how they could get in there, and what might happen to them when it freezes.  They had fun trying to make a frog that hops, and tested them on our classroom lily pads.  Again, thinking about how engineers look to examples in nature for new inventions.
