This week we start a science experiment, and predict what germs will do to a piece of sandwich bread.

The students touch one piece of bread with their dirty hands.

Then we learn how to properly wash our hands with soap and water, and have them touch a different piece of bread with clean hands.

We will keep the bread in a baggie until Christmas break and observe what happens to each piece of bread.

Students were challenged to 6 different events in “Pumpkin Catapult Olympics” this week.  They needed to launch their pumpkins through hoops, over a stack of books, hit a target, knock down cups, measure the distance, and land it into a bucket.  They recorded the results in a chart, and then reported their points and explained what the easiest and most challenging events were.

The students were challenged this week to make a balance to weigh their pumpkin.

Using cups, rulers, pipe cleaners, and blocks they worked together to create, and measure the mass of their pumpkin in marbles.
