Results: Using heat from hands came in first at around 6 minutes, then water, salt, and light.
We read “Snowflake Bentley” in STEM this week, and discover how snow crystals are formed. We found that snowflakes have six points, and they are symmetrical.
12 crayfish came to Brown, so we’re making a habitat in the STEM room for them.
The students discover color codes to create a playground for the Ozobots.
The students had great ideas to share about why trees have no leaves in the winter. We discover one of the many reasons is so the branches don’t break off from all the snow we’ve been getting.
Then we made snow, and designed trees to help us remember… The fake snow options were; tissue, styrofoam, cotton ball, and paper. We predict what will make the best fake snow, and then test it with our wind power to find out. The students discovered so much more than I had planned. They found out they breathe out water vapor and how air flows.
